In Ashgabat, the Week of the Italian Language was inaugurated with an event attended by Ambassador Luigi Ferrari, Rector Maral Kuliýewa, and Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Valerio De Cesaris. The Ambassador emphasized the role of Italian culture as a tool of soft power, while Rector De Cesaris highlighted the importance of the University for Foreigners in promoting the Italian language and culture globally.
The event attracted numerous students interested in studying in Perugia. On October 14, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the “Magtymguly” State University for the training of future foreign language teachers, including Italian, and to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.
The 24th Edition of the Italian Language Week Worldwide (SLIM 2024) featured several conferences and meetings in Ashgabat, exploring the theme “Italian Between the Lines.” Valerio De Cesaris and Valentina Seri held conferences and meetings with hundreds of teachers, researchers, and students.
