To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Embassy of Italy in Turkmenistan, the exhibition “Izzat Klychev and Italy” opened on 22 May at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Ashgabat.
The exhibition featured works that Klychev (10 October 1923 – 12 January 2006) created during his travels in Italy in the 1960s and 1970s. An internationally renowned painter, he was invited to participate in the Venice Biennale in 1964 and 1972. His paintings capture the beauty and grandeur of Italian architecture and landscapes, reflecting the cultural ties between Italy and Turkmenistan.
