During his official visit to Italy—the first to a European Union country—President Berdimuhamedov was received by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. This was followed by a major Business Forum organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), attended by Undersecretary of State Giorgio Silli. On this occasion, “Sistema Italia” met with Turkmen companies to strengthen existing ties and develop new cooperation in energy, transport, connectivity, infrastructure, textiles and agri-food. On Saturday, 25 October, President Berdimuhamedov and the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, inaugurated the exhibition “Ancient Civilisations of Turkmenistan” at the Capitoline Museums (Palazzo dei Conservatori, 25 October 2025–12 April 2026). The works on display originate from protohistoric Margiana (3rd–2nd millennium BC) and ancient Parthia (Nisa, 2nd century BC–1st century AD). The implementation of such an important project demonstrates the high level of scientific and academic cooperation between Italy and Turkmenistan. The visit was a great success and brought relations between Italy and Turkmenistan to a new and higher level across all areas of bilateral cooperation. In the economic and trade sphere, the partnership between Italy and Turkmenistan is growing significantly and expanding into new productive sectors. Italian
