Mission Objectives
Turkmenistan is transitioning towards a more privatized and productive economy, significantly impacting the textile sector through privatization and support for local production. Cotton is the main agricultural product and the third-largest export after gas and oil. This provides a significant opportunity for developing a local industry to transform the harvest into high-value-added products.
Market Opportunities
Turkmenistan is investing in industrial and technological modernization to increase exports and replace imports. In 2023, it purchased Italian textile machinery worth over 12 million euros. This emerging market represents an expansion opportunity for Italian companies.
