Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (2024)

From November 18 to 24, 2024, the IX Edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World was held in Ashgabat. The theme of the event was “Mediterranean Diet and Root Cuisine: Health and Tradition.” Italian chefs Anna Maria Palma, Marco De Vita, and Andrea Palmieri conducted masterclasses and show-cooking sessions, attracting over 400 participants, including dignitaries such as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, H.E. Serdar Muhammetdurdyev.

The Italian Embassy, in collaboration with the Italian restaurant Dante in Ashgabat, organized a series of gastronomic events to promote Italian culinary culture. The chefs offered four exclusive masterclasses for culinary professionals, allowing them to deepen their knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, and four cooking classes for cooking enthusiasts. A series of specialized gourmet dinners also showcased the authentic flavors of Italy to invited guests.

The Week of Italian Cuisine was not just a gastronomic celebration but also an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Italy and Turkmenistan, promoting cultural exchange through the culinary arts.
