From 13 to 19 October 2025, the Embassy of Italy in Ashgabat celebrated the 25th Week of the Italian Language in the World with a programme of events promoting the Italian language in Turkmenistan.
The opening ceremony took place on 14 October at the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD). Further events were held at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, Magtymguly University, the State University of Architecture and Construction of Turkmenistan, and the Gujurly Bilim Educational Centre, with the participation of Professor Francesco Giommoni, an Italian language instructor and hyperpolyglot.
The week concluded on 19 October with the opening ceremony of the CELI Certification Centre in Turkmenistan at the Ish Nokady Coworking Centre in the Arkach Shopping Centre. The initiative was carried out with the support of the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the Embassy of Italy in Ashgabat.
