Week of the Italian Language in the World (2024)

At the International University of Humanities and Development in Ashgabat, the Week of the Italian Language was inaugurated with an event attended by Ambassador Luigi Ferrari, Rector Maral Kuliýewa, and Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Valerio De Cesaris. The Ambassador highlighted the role of Italian culture as a soft power tool, while Rector De Cesaris spoke about the importance of the University for Foreigners in promoting the Italian language and culture globally.

The event attracted numerous students interested in studying in Perugia. On October 14, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University for Foreigners of Perugia and Magtymguly State University for the training of future foreign language teachers, including Italian, and to strengthen the collaboration between the two universities.

The XXIV Edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World (SLIM 2024), held from October 14 to 18, featured several conferences and meetings in Ashgabat, focusing on the theme “The Italian Language Between the Lines.” Valerio De Cesaris and Valentina Seri held conferences and meetings with hundreds of teachers, researchers, and students.
